Plein Air Panels
High quality 1/4 inch birch plywood.
Choose wood, acrylic primed canvas, or oil primed linen.
The Plein Air panels are made from 1/4 inch birch plywood that has been sealed front, back and sides with non-toxic water-based marine grade sealer to reduce warping. There is no added internal structure like the Series 1 and 2 panels. Plein Air Series panels are available in three options: with wood surfaces, with acrylic primed canvas, or with oil primed linen. These panels are ready to use or have canvas, linen paper, or any other substrate you desire to work on attached. They also can be primed and painted on directly. Suitable for studio or plein air painting.
Series 1
Luan semi hollow hardwood panel with red oak stringers.
Choose wood, acrylic primed canvas, or oil primed linen.
The Series 1 panels are 3/8 inches thick and constructed with Luan hardwood plywood. These semi-hollow panels are strong and lightweight. A structural foam is added to the core on larger sizes. The panels are pre-sealed with an oil based sealer on one side and a non toxic water based sealer on the other to reduce the effects of moisture in the environment and mediums used on the panel, and give the artist two options for the surface they would like to paint on. These panels come in three options, with wood surfaces, with acrylic primed canvas, or oil primed linen. Series 2 X-Panels are ready use as they are, or the artist can attach canvas, linen, paper, or any other substrate desired. They also can be primed and painted on directly. The sealer is dry and will be receptive to oil, acrylic, watercolor and any other primers and grounds. Series 2 panels are suitable for studio or plein air painting but especially useful for plein air painting due to their light weight.
Series 2
Luan hardwood with composite core.
Choose wood both surfaces, acrylic primed canvas, or oil primed linen.
These super light panels are the Roll's Royce of artist's painting panels. Constructed with Luan hardood plywood sandwiching a composite core, these 1/4 inch thick beauties are strong and lightweight. Series 2 X-Panels are pre-sealed with a non toxic sealers to reduce the effects of moisture in the environment and mediums used on the panel, and the composite core creates a waterproof barrier between the front and back of the panel. There are three options to choose from: plain wood surfaces, or with acrylic primed canvas, or oil primed linen. Panels are ready use, or you may attach canvas, linen, paper, or any other substrate you desire to work on. They also can be primed and painted on directly. The sealer is dry and will be receptive to oil, acrylic, watercolor and any other primers or grounds. Suitable for studio or plein air painting.
